93% of our students achieve their target grade. If your child works hard and the grade still is not moving, the video below explains exactly why, and exactly what we do about it.
Every student you just saw started somewhere your child might be right now: a U, a C, a B that would not budge. None of them needed more hours. They needed the A* Exam System©.
"My grades went from D's and U's to A's and B's within the space of a few months. The tutoring is personally tailored towards your specific needs — something that isn't seen in mainstream services. I would recommend MATHSZX to any student who's struggling or wants to level up."
"Before joining MATHSZX I was scoring in the 30s. After joining I was easily getting As and A*s, averaging 70s and 80s in my Year 13 mocks. I'd recommend MATHSZX to anyone who wants to improve or is aiming for the highest grades."
"It has only been 2 days but the sessions have been amazing. I've gained so much more than I expected — it improved my structure and mindframe when tackling questions and gave me so much more confidence than I had in school lessons."
"My son had to cover two years of A Level Maths content in less than a year. MATHSZX organised and planned every class to cover all the content before his exam. We gave them a challenge and they overachieved. I would thoroughly recommend them."
"MATHSZX massively increased his confidence with maths and he made great progress through their 1:1 tutoring. The young man was barely coming to school before this. I would recommend it."
"I've seen my maths knowledge and confidence increase rapidly. My results in class papers have improved noticeably and my overall understanding has strengthened a lot. I would highly recommend MATHSZX to any A Level student aiming for an A or A*."
"MATHSZX fully prepped me with enough knowledge to comfortably enter Year 12 — teaching me exam techniques, how to revise, how to spot key information in a question, and significantly boosting my mathematical ability. These people are here for you to do your best."
"She's found the weekly sessions so helpful and has always been so positive after each one. She's been really confident and has been timetabling well with anything she's been unsure about. Thank you for making her feel better about her exams."
"Whenever you are struggling with a question you can send it straight through and get help immediately. The sessions are well set out and tailored to what you need. I've definitely seen an improvement in my confidence and ability in maths."
"I continue to work with MATHSZX and would thoroughly recommend them for any level of student needing support in Maths. They have managed to engage students who had completely disconnected from the subject."

Here's the uncomfortable truth about A-Level Maths: your child can do everything that looks right and still not get the grade. Attend every lesson. Take the notes. Watch the YouTube videos. Print the past papers. Follow the revision timetable. And still walk out of the mock with a D, a C, or a B when everything depends on an A.
That is because the old way of getting a maths grade no longer works. Textbooks and classrooms teach content. YouTube explains topics. None of it tells your child which gaps are actually costing them marks, why they lost the marks they lost, or how to answer a question they have not seen before. So they keep working, the effort keeps going in, and the grade stays exactly where it is.
Most parents assume that because their child is smart and putting the work in, the grade will come. It won't. We see it constantly: hardworking students doing everything "correct" and staying stuck, because effort without a system just produces more of the same result.
Even hiring a tutor usually doesn't fix it. The majority of families who join MATHSZX have already paid for tutoring that did not work. They acted early, spent the money, did the responsible thing, and the grade still did not move.
Now I am going to tell you why, and exactly what we do differently.
We let the results speak for themselves.
Izaak came to us in November sitting at a Grade C (67%) — confident in class but unable to show it under exam conditions. Within 3 weeks of joining he achieved his first A*, and went on to consistently score 93%+ across all papers. He secured a Degree Apprenticeship at KPMG straight out of sixth form.
"I just followed the plan, attended all the sessions, did the targeted practice, and used the mock breakdowns." — Izaak
Kofi could handle individual questions — but fell apart on full papers. He doubted himself under pressure, lacked a clear approach to harder problems, and his revision had no real structure. We focused on full paper strategy, exam technique, and building a step-by-step framework for tackling questions, alongside strong accountability. Kofi went from a D, to consistent Bs, to hitting his first A, 8 weeks into the programme!
Ansab came to us in Year 12 scoring 50-60% in topic tests and hitting a D in his initial assessment. The effort was there, YouTube, PMT, hours of practice, but he couldn't read an exam question and identify what it was even testing. In 3 months we covered the content gaps and rebuilt his exam approach from scratch. By Month 3 he hit his first A. Month 4 he achieved an A* in his school mocks and a full A* UCAS prediction for Dentistry.
Ishaan could handle textbook questions but fell apart on full papers, panicking under time pressure and losing marks to self-doubt, not lack of knowledge. We built him a personalised exam framework centred on full timed papers and weekly mark-by-mark feedback. Ishaan went from a B, to his first A within weeks, to securing four predicted A*s!
When tutoring fails, parents blame the tutor or their child's effort. Usually, neither is true. Tutoring fails in three ways:
All three have the same thing in common: you bought a person and hoped for an outcome. A person delivers an hour on a Tuesday. The real problem happens on Thursday night, alone, in front of a question your child has never seen before.
"We tried two tutors before. It was a complete disaster. He didn't gel with them at all, and he found the other tutor super slow." — Sanyo, Ishaan's mum
A grade is not produced by an hour a week. A grade is produced by a system. That gap, between a hardworking student and a working system, is the entire reason MATHSZX exists.
Every student who joins MATHSZX goes through the same engine. Once you see it, you will understand why our results look the way they do, and why "we tried tutoring already" has never once been a reason we could not help.
It runs on seven steps.
Before anyone teaches your child anything, we run a full diagnostic across Pure, Statistics and Mechanics. Not a chat about how they are finding it. An assessment that shows precisely which topics are secure, which are shaky, and which are missing entirely. It is also why we can guarantee the result: we never promise blind.
Your child's gaps are cross-referenced against their exact board and specification: Edexcel, AQA, OCR. Most students revise what feels comfortable, and schools teach in specification order. Neither is the order that moves a grade. Inside this system, every hour is pointed at the marks.
Current grade, target grade, time remaining. Combined with the diagnostic, those three numbers produce a personalised route: which topics, in which order, on which weeks, to close the gap in the time available. Sessions run to a consistent weekly schedule agreed at onboarding, they run through the year including holidays if you want them to, and yes, they are recorded, so your child can rewatch anything. Your child walks out of week one knowing exactly what to do, and for most students that is the first time A-Level Maths has ever felt under control.
This is the heart of the system, and the part almost no tutor teaches. Most students tell us the same thing: "I understand it in class, but in the exam my mind just stops." That is not a maths problem. It is a reading problem. Exam questions are written in a pattern, and your child has never been taught to read it. Our T.A.G framework trains it directly, drilled under timed conditions on real past papers, until it is automatic. The result is a student who never looks at an exam question without knowing where to start.
Motivation is not a plan, and you already know it. So we removed willpower from the equation: weekly sessions built around their route, revision tasks that are checked rather than just assigned, live drop-ins between sessions, and full mocks under timed conditions every fortnight. If your child hits a wall at 10pm, they message us and we help. And at home, you stop being the enforcer. Maths stops being a fight.
Every mock, session and marked paper feeds back in, and the route updates as your child's data updates. Because their full picture lives in the system, not one tutor's head, anyone on our team can pick them up at any moment knowing exactly where they are. A tutor can be ill or leave. The system cannot vanish, cannot dilute, and never forgets. And no, it is not AI: the data decides what your child needs, and real, hand-picked specialists deliver it.
Every week you see what was covered, what the data says, and what happens next. Not "it went well." Numbers, topics, mock scores against the target. Ask yourself when your last tutor sent you an update. Inside MATHSZX, nothing runs silent, and you will never again find out where your child stands from a mock you did not see coming.
I could describe the system all day. It is easier to show you what it produces.
Kofi came to MATHSZX having started Year 12 late and never fully closed the gap. Content made sense in class but fell apart the moment exam pressure arrived. He had tried tutoring before and it had not worked. What was missing was not effort, it was structure and the exam technique to turn what he knew into marks. Kofi went from a D to an A in 5 months, backed by the kind of session consistency that made the progress inevitable.
Arielle came to us in Year 13 sitting at a Grade C, despite hitting an A in her Year 12 mocks. The issue was memorisation over real understanding. When a question looked unfamiliar, she panicked, and that panic cost her marks consistently under timed conditions. With Warwick and LSE requiring an A/A* for PPE, she needed to turn it around fast. Within 2 months she hit her first A*, and maintained it consistently through to the end of the programme.
Reuben understood the content — he just couldn't show it under pressure. Silly mistakes, missed easy marks, panic under timed conditions. We ran focused sessions on exam conditions, mark scheme decoding, answer structure, and time control. In 3 months he went from a C to scoring consistent As and landed a place at Loughborough University.
"MATHSZX helped me understand what the question is actually asking and showed me different methods that my school teachers never went into." — Reuben
Arnez hadn't touched a single A Level Maths topic when he came to us — with 8 months until exams. We broke the curriculum into digestible sprints, tracked every step, and kept him accountable throughout. Within 3 months he was scoring Bs in mocks. By exam season, he was achieving As and A*s across all three papers. From complete beginner to exam ready.
You are in the majority of our families, not the minority. Tutoring fails when you buy a person and hope for an outcome. You are not buying a person here. You are buying a system that diagnoses, sequences, trains exam skill, tracks every data point and reports to you weekly. That is why students who "already tried tutoring" are the ones we get the fastest results with.
It is, and it should be, because you are not comparing like for like. An hourly tutor sells you time and keeps the risk on your side. We sell a guaranteed outcome, with a diagnostic, a personalised route, exam training, fortnightly mocks, 24/7 support and weekly reporting behind it, and the risk sits with us.
Most of our students were exactly that child, in classes small enough to ask and still silent. Inside MATHSZX they do not need to raise a hand, because the diagnostic and the fortnightly data tell us where they are stuck before they say a word. The support comes to them.
Better, is the honest answer. One tutor keeps your child's picture in their head. Here it lives in the system: every gap, every mock score, every week's focus, visible to everyone who works with them. That is why support at 10pm comes from someone who knows exactly where your child is.
Izaak hit his first A* in three weeks. Peter went from an E to averaging an A in 16 weeks. The system sequences whatever time remains, which is exactly why we look at your child's specific timeline on the call before we tell you what is realistic. What is true is that every passing term shortens the route.
Before we start, we put it in writing: your child jumps two grades, or we keep tutoring them for free until they do.
You come into this knowing the minimum your child will achieve, guaranteed, instead of hoping that an hour a week with a tutor gets them there. We can only offer this because the system runs on data. We know, week by week, whether your child is on track, long before an exam ever tells us.
There is one condition, and I will say it as plainly to you as I do to every family: your child does the work. They attend the sessions, complete the diagnostic, and put in the agreed hours each week. We handle the strategy, the structure, the accountability and the teaching. If they do their part and the grade does not come, that is on us, and we make it right.
So the only real question is this: will your child show up and do the work?
Let's play this out properly.
The worst case scenario of doing nothing: another term passes, another mock confirms what the last one said, and the grade hardens into a predicted grade that follows your child onto UCAS. You already have the evidence in front of you. The results so far are the hard part, and you have seen them.
The worst case scenario of joining MATHSZX: your child does the work, the grade takes longer than planned, and we tutor them for free until they get there. That is the floor. It is written into the guarantee. Your downside is time, never a wasted investment.
One of these worst cases is protected. The other one costs your child options they do not get back.
If your child is capable of more than their current grade shows, and you have watched the effort with your own eyes, then you already know the problem was never effort. It was the system. And now you have seen the one that fixes it.
On the call, I will find out exactly where your child is, what has actually been holding them back, and what a realistic grade jump looks like for their specific situation and timeline.
Bring your child with you. We can only help properly when we have the full picture, from both the student's perspective and yours, because their commitment matters as much as your decision.
Every student runs on The A* Exam System: we diagnose the gaps, build a personalised route to their target grade, train them to read and answer any exam question, and track everything with fortnightly mocks. You get a monthly report so you always know exactly where they stand.
Most students are with us between 16 weeks and 6 months, depending on their starting point, target and how far away the exams are. We map your child's exact timeline on the strategy call.
Weekly sessions, revision tasks that are set and checked, live drop-ins between sessions, and a full mock under timed conditions every fortnight, marked with feedback. If they hit a wall at 10pm, they message us and a real person helps.
24/7 transparency, so you can see exactly how your child is getting on whenever you want, plus a monthly report with real data: what was covered, what the mock scores say against the target, and what happens next.
We cover investment on the strategy call, because the honest answer depends on your child's starting point, target and timeline. What we can tell you now: it is priced against a guaranteed outcome, not sold by the hour.
We run a hybrid model: one-to-one sessions built around your child's personal route, combined with small group sessions. Your child gets individual attention on exactly what they need, plus the pace and support of working alongside a small group.
